Gender Equality is not a Female fight but it is a Human Fight.
The moment we hear the term Gender Equality, the first thing that strikes our mind is about the Biological differentiation. But literally speaking, this term is much more than that. It is actually a state in which access to rights and opportunities are unaffected by the GENDER.
WHILE THE QUESTION ARISES THAT HOW DO WE ACHIEVE THIS EQUALITY?
So, we can achieve this term i.e. the ‘GENDER EQUALITY’ only when WOMEN and MEN would start sharing equal rights and opportunities across all the sectors of the society, including Economic Participation as well as in the Decision Making Process.
Talking about the second thing that strikes our mind while talking about this term is the GLOOMY , the STUPOR as well as the HAPLESS side of the women. I am sure that most of the people just after going through the term GENDER EQUALITY use to start assuming WOMEN as the most inferior and as the most alienated member of the society which have to be change.
TIME TO TALK ABOUT FEW INSTANCES RELATED TO INEQUALITIES
Let’s begin with Female:
One of our favourite novelist since childhood, J.K. ROWLING who entertained us in our childhood with her famous series HARRY POTTER, while she also at her initial career had to aniticipate with her name just because her publisher suggested her that yout target audience i.e. the boys may not show interest over your work just because of your GENDER.
Just want to ask that would really somebody’s work will be judged according to their GENDER.
Albeit, movement like #metoo and the GENDER PAY GAP shows us that still we have not achieved equality. Means that #metoo implies that Women are still not safe even at her work-place as compare to the men. While, talking about the GENDER PAY GAP , so let’s take the example of our own BOLLYWOOD INDUSTRY which implies that actresses also work hard with the same dedication and with the same discipline just like the actors do. But,the question arises that why actresses are paid low as compare to MEN?
The most painful instance that we are going to talk about is related to THE SABARIMALA TEMPLE which still follows their old traditions and norms where which they don’t allow women to enter in the temple just because they think women as the most impure creature present in the earth just because of their MENSTRUAL CYCLE. As we know that Justice will be given to each and every innocent people, so with this case also SUPREME COURT on SEPTEMBER,2018 has struck down a rule which provide hindrances to the women. But after the SC’s verdict, most of the local city’s residents as well as the temple’s priest has started violating the verdict but even after facing so much of criticisms, 2 women on 2nd January,2019 made themself strong enough to enter in that temple but what had happened after that was very embarrassing even while typing. Actually, the priests had closed the temple just because they wanted to purify the temple by performing particular purification rituals in it.
Just want to ask that do we pray to GOD by judging their GENDER? Is it like women can only pray to DURGA MAA and men can pray to SHIV JI?
While, I have already mentioned that this is not a FEMALE FIGHT but the HUMAN FIGHT so let’s take the case of MEN where they feel Gender Inequalities with.
Talking about FAKE MOLESTATION CASES, FAKE RAPE CASES, FAKE DOWRY CASES all these cases are ruining men’s life.
Let’s take the example of ROHTAK SISTERS who had beaten 3 men in the bus when they were travelling. The quarell took place just for a seat in the bus but being the lady they misused their gender and filed a fake molestation case over those three men due to which those innocent 3 men were suffering with the tagline of MOLESTERS and have to suffer as criminals for three years.
I just want to say 1 thing to women which is WOMEN, please use your rights only for your safety while not for earning money or gaining popularity.
CHANGES TAKEN IN THIS FIELD
As we always use to mention change everywhere so here also Change has been started to take place. So, I would also talk about two changes that have been taken.
1. SC on September,2018 has struck down SECTION 497 of the INDIAN PENAL CODE that dealt with ADULTERY which implies that it was something that if any men would have any sexual relationship with a Female who is not actually his spouse then at that time, only men would just be responsible enough for the punishment by the law but now Women would also be treated as guilty as the men used to be.
2. SC in the month of September,2018 has ruled out the most controversial SECTION which is non other than the SECTION 377, where SC stated that SEXUAL ORIENTATION is not a crime instead it is a natural process. With this judgement of SC, now the members of LGBT community started coming from their group without hesitating in front of the society.
The biggest example which we get to see is in this year’s KUMBH ASHNAN where Transgenders were also allowed to take part in the Ashnan.
As we have gone through so much of knowledge and facts over this topic but now I would like to make you aware that according to GENDER GAP REPORT, INDIA has been ranked 142nd out of 149 countries in the world in the field of economic opportunity and participation subindex.
So, it is not just the government’s duty to take thier step forward to work over this but it is our duty also to take part actively to change this inequalities and mark India as the 1st country out of 149 countries in economic participation and in decision making process of both the genders.
